Welcome to Wednesday Reads

Hi,

I’m Kieran.

In the words of Troy McClure, you may know me from my work at ComicsAlliance, Polygon or CBR, or podcasts like Journey Into Misery.

I used to write about a comics a lot, then I stopped, but now I’m starting again. Wednesday Reads first started out as a Twitter thread I’d do every week where I’d give little capsule reviews of the comics but now it’s a whole blog.

Late last year, I found myself really struggling without anything to focus on. For the first time in a long time, I didn’t have any projects and I felt like a spare part. I also missed writing about comics like I used to, so I decided to set up a blog where I could write whatever came to mind, just as my own little corner of the internet. I’ve been working on it for since the start of January, but I thought today would be a great day to launch because it’s Wednesday and it’s my birthday!

Wednesday Reads launches today with nine feature articles, but that’s not super representative of what the site is going to be going forward. Starting on Monday there will be a different recurring article every weekday, with new instalments on the same day every week. Every now and then, I might throw out an additional feature like one of the articles going up today, but for the most part, it’ll be regularly scheduled articles under one of five categories, at least until one of them finishes and I start a new one.

Before you read anything on the site, please read this article first. It’s really important to me that everyone that reads the site or follows me as a writer knows exactly what I’ve done in the past and the ways I’m trying to atone for it in the present. I don’t want to present an inauthentic version of myself and I don’t want to hide from the awful thing I did, so please take a moment to read that post if you haven’t already.

If you want to follow Wednesday Reads on Twitter, you can. If you want to follow me on Twitter, you can do that too I guess.
